Shantel Wilkins is an advocate for and supporter of an inclusive culture where differences are leveraged. She welcomes uncomfortable conversations that will address and remedy institutional racism and racial/gender bias against ethnically diverse people and communities. Other areas in which she serves her community include early childhood education, nonprofit capacity building, and Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) initiatives. Shantel is well versed in advising on emerging trends in business growth, brand awareness, corporate social responsibility, intergovernmental relations and public relations.
Over the last 25 years of her professional career in the aerospace, banking, cybersecurity, nonprofit and private foundation sectors, she has worked and navigated in spaces where social justice and equity are uncomfortable and challenging discussions. Additionally, she has worked with the FBI to help secure the US infrastructure at both the local and national levels.
Currently, Shantel is Chief of Staff at Donors of Color Network, the first-ever cross-racial community of donors of color and movement leaders committed to building the collective power of people of color to achieve racial equity. The Donors of Color Network officially launched its Inaugural Convening in March of 2019, building on three years of in-depth research, writing, and interviews.
Prior to joining the Donors of Color Network, Shantel was the Deputy Managing Director and Chief Administrative Officer at the Kronkosky Charitable Foundation, a regional Foundation investing in Initiatives and 501(c)(3) organizations in Bandera, Bexar, Comal and Kendall counties of Texas.
Shantel has a BA in Communication Arts focused in Journalism & Speech from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas.
