Dr. Marcel Yotebieng MD, PhD, MPH

Professor, Albert Einstein College of Medicine

Dr. Yotebieng is Professor of in the Division of General Internal Medicine. He started his professional carrier as physician in Cameroon before moving to US. He holds additional degrees in Maternal and Child Health (MPH) and in Epidemiology/Biostatistics (PhD). Over the past two decades, he has worked in multiple countries in sub-Saharan Africa as clinician, public health practitioner, and researcher. He co-leads the Central Africa region participation in the International epidemiology Databases to Evaluate AIDS (IeDEA), an international research consortium established in 2006 by the US National Institutes of Health to provide a rich resource for globally diverse HIV data, for which he co-chairs the TB and lung health working group. He also co-leads the NIH funded Einstein/Rwanda/DRC Consortium for Research in HIV/HPV/Malignancies as well as multiple RO1 funded studies. His areas of research include: Implementation research, Program evaluation, Clinical trials, HIV prevention, including the prevention of mother-to-child HIV transmission (PMTCT), HIV care and treatment, Tuberculosis, and Maternal and child health.
