Brad Wilken is Deputy Director, Business Development and Licensing and covers the foundation’s Global Health portfolio. In this role, Brad is responsible for working with the foundation’s Program Strategy Teams (PSTs) to identify and evaluate potential strategic business partners and licensing opportunities that will help execute and advance the PST strategies. Brad has been with the foundation since August 2016 and has played key roles including leading the COVID-19 Therapeutics Accelerator and establishing the Gates Medical Research Institute.
Before joining the foundation, Brad spent 18 years working in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries (Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Genentech, Eli Lilly). During his career he has held senior positions in project management and clinical operations. Brad received his BS in Human Biology from The University of Kansas, MBA from Butler University, and MPH from Columbia University.
